So good! About 10 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon but it went by fast. Ordered Hu Tieu Go (dry) and it was so flavorful and yummy. Chili oil is on the side if you want some heat. Portions are pretty big as well, definitely worth the price.
Very good food but that also made the restaurant super busy during the weekend so the wait is ridiculous. That's why I mostly ordered for pick up and enjoy the food at home. Here are my favs: - Bún bò Huế (without chân giò) - Mì khô đặc biệt (without gan/liver) - Cơm gà Hải Nam (with 1/2 chicken, you can make 2 meals out of 1 order) - Cơm gà roti - and sometimes Phở gà.
One of the best places in OC or little Saigon for excellent Hu Tieu and Mi Hey the star menu items you can't go wrong. The owner, she is very tentative this is why she is successful, most owners who are successful hide and get stuck up. This woman has it figured out.
I LOVE bun bo hue, and some places make it extremely salty. This bun bo here is solid and it was so good. My parents & sister love the egg noodle with soup bowl and the shaken beef with rice pasta. Service was fast the first time I came. Since it was so good, my parents came back the next day to try another dish and I came back for the bun bo hue. The service for the second time was even better than the first day. Since my parents and I share a bowl of bun bo hue in a separate bowl, they noticed that the soup went down, so they immediately brought over another bowl that has the broth from the kitchen and pour it in our main bowls, so the noodles were hot again. My parents also got their chè which was recommend from a friend of hers. It was some sort of bean where you drizzle the ginger-y type of sauce of it. They loved it. There's also a tofu pudding? which they loved as well.
Ok today's experience definitely needs a huge recognition. Food was good as normal and cost was a bit over the top in my pov, however service is beyond what expected from a Vietnamese restaurant. We got our typical follow up and check in on our food. Towards the end was where I was blown away. I accidentally forgot to grab my drink on the way out and ran back in within 1-2 minutes. They had already cleared the table for next group of guests and I asked if they still had it since I wasn't done. They had already thrown it out, but instead made another drink within seconds without charging me another. Phenomenal service and they have a second location for their central dishes. Can't wait to try the food over there!
Felt pretty standard for your local and typical Vietnamese food. I grew up on this cuisine so as long as it tastes the way it normally should, then I'm content. This was my first time here. The parking lot is small and I can imagine on the weekends, it might be harder to find parking. Inside was very spacious and clean. The workers here were quick and our food also came out surprisingly fast. I got the egg noodles with wontons which are my fav. I love the condiments and spicy oils they have on the side, especially the pickled jalapeños. The soup and noodles were delicious. I also got Vietnamese soy milk and something about it just tastes so good every time.
